APC Quilts

I had been hearing about APC's quilts for some time but kept forgetting to check out their site.  Jessica Ogden has had APC save their remnants and was trying to think of a way to use them. She and Jean Touitou decided to make quilts with them. They sent the remnants to India and found a group of women to make them.

I find this more impressive than looking at the finished quilts, I just discovered the video of how they're made via Wise Craft's blog. Fascinating to watch!

It's so wonderful to see companies finding excellent use for their waste.See more of APC's quilts here.

  1. Me too, I think the quilts are pretty boring.. useful and pleasant on a bed, but not very stimulating to look at as a piece of art.

  2. I'd admired the quilts, but this video gives them proper context. Thanks for sharing it.

  3. Fascinating, to see a quilt grow with lightning speed... me, I don´t think them boring - this women, though being part of quite an industrial process, obviously put a lot of care + attention into it...

  4. I do agree with Ger. Very careful to be an industrial process...

  5. Saw that blue one feature in Selvedge, and also meant to look it up in order to learn more. However it got pushed back on the "want to-do" list by the "have to-do" list, and I completely forgot to follow through. Thank you for doing the digging, and finding the video! Off to watch it now!

  6. That is just such an inspiring video! I'm working on a little stitching project myself right now for a bed hanging, and this has given me new energy. I enjoy your finds very much!
